VENEZUELA just sharing this as i am pulling some footage from the archives & this was from a visit to the venezuelan embassy in dc for a performance. [click the image to view via the official blog]my apologies for the motion/focus of the camera [its not too bad] but i was taking still images & filming video at the same time.the mentor-ship program i was involved in traveled there to experience culture.the image that you see of the ancestral lady [which is one of my most favorite images] dancing in the video was very intriguing & awesome.it was truly my honor to be in her presence.if you look closely you will see the flash pop when i photographed that very image while filming video. [NO PHOTOSHOP! …only camera curves & filters]i got quite a few weird looks as if they were asking “how r u able to film video & shoot?”…haha … & some did ask…but basically it went like this:one hand held the video camera…in the other, my daughter “nikole” closing her eye 2 make still imagery.anyway, she had such presence & although she spoke no english, the language of respect in culture enabled us to communicate…i dig the ancestors, their contributions & sacrifices to enable us to have what we have today.it was a great day…the children had a grand time, as you can see from the footage.i hope u enjoy.peace.

my apologies for the motion/focus of the camera [its not too bad] but i was taking still images & filming video at the same time.

the mentor-ship program i was involved in traveled there to experience culture.

the image that you see of the ancestral lady [which is one of my most favorite images] dancing in the video was very intriguing & awesome.

it was truly my honor to be in her presence.

if you look closely you will see the flash pop when i photographed that very image while filming video. [NO PHOTOSHOP! …only camera curves & filters]

i got quite a few weird looks as if they were asking “how r u able to film video & shoot?”…

haha … & some did ask…

but basically it went like this:

one hand held the video camera…in the other, my daughter “nikole” closing her eye 2 make still imagery.

anyway, she had such presence & although she spoke no english, the language of respect in culture enabled us to communicate…

i dig the ancestors, their contributions & sacrifices to enable us to have what we have today.

it was a great day…

the children had a grand time, as you can see from the footage.

i hope u enjoy.

peace.
